What can I say about Laura and Brett?
Well… to start, the first time I met this adorable duo, I took them UNKNOWINGLY to a nude beach. A hidden nude beach. And naked people just started emerging from the trees surrounded the beach, which utterly confused us. By the third person and some exploration, we realized we were definitely the trespassers. You know… with all our clothes on and whatnot. Needless to say, it made for a hilarious and memorable first meeting!
Their beautiful Summerhill Pyramid Winery wedding had far less nudity than their engagement session, thank goodness! Although, it was SO windy during their mountain top first look and first set of bridal party photos, that many of them could have ended up dress-less! We decided to cut it short and resume later in the day because it was just far too windy!
There were so many fun moments over the course of the day – from the sabering ceremony where Laura’s dad had WAY too much fun, to the pogo stick competition, sweet and tearful speeches, I couldn’t have been happier and more honoured to spend the day with this beautiful couple!

Gabby and Cam got married at one of my all-time favourite venues; Silver Sage Stables.
Guys! This venue is so incredibly beautiful. The barn and wood provide an incredible canvas for any wedding decor, the golden wheat field is the MOST beautiful (who doesn’t want to get married in the middle of a wheat field?!), especially in the evening during golden hour (just look below), and the whole property is surrounded by mountains. Any direction you look, there is beauty.
The beautiful thing about this wedding was…. well… everything. But what I love the most is when an incredible group of vendors come together to make a bride and groom’s dreams come true. I got to work with some of my favourite people of all time. Gabby, who is on Team Top Knot made the obvious choice in having Sara on board as her planner and decorator. Sara and Gabby are both two of the most incredible humans on this planet and I’m keeping them both forever (don’t worry, I’ll share!). The colour palette for this wedding was such a breath of fresh air for me! Let me tell you… I just LOVE it when I get to photograph at a unique venue with unique decor. It keeps the creative juices flowing and fills my heart with pretty warm fuzzies. Sara is a genius when it comes to providing something beautiful and unique for her couples. Petal and Vow provided the florals for the wedding party and reception and they were breathtaking! The bridesmaids carried floral hoops rather than bouquets – another favourite of mine!
Gabby and Cam opted out of having a first look and waited to see each other at the ceremony. I love this way of planning the day because the excitement and anticipation really get the tears and emotions flowing! After the ceremony, the light was so incredible beautiful. Wedding party and family portraits took place and then we ate the most delicious food from The Chef Instead. I’m not exaggerating at all when I say that this was some of the best wedding food I’ve ever eaten – and I’ve eaten at a lot of weddings! Not to mention, at the end of the day, we were sent off with fresh, homemade donuts. WHAT?!?! I don’t think that anyone except wedding vendors can understand how much of a gift that is!
After dinner we snuck out for a quick couples’ session with Gabby and Cam as the sun set. This is quite possibly my favourite part of the day, not only because the light is the most beautiful at this time of day, but also because the wedding couple get to spend a moment away from guests and just get to take it all in. They can have a moment to be together and not have to entertain their guests. They just get to enjoy the moment together. It’s a beautiful time!
Enjoy these images of this incredible day!

Winter engagement sessions in Kelowna are generally pretty warm. Like this session. But guess what? I complained anyway because I really dislike the cold. In the winter, I grasp at anything that will keep me cozy. Fireplaces, tea, cuddles, blankets, more cuddles….
Fast forward to this week and it’s -17 degrees. Brrrrrrrr.
So. I figured I should probably post this session before it gets warm and we don’t want to think about snow anymore.
Jessica & Patrick and I needed to keep warm this day, so we didn’t stop moving – them a little more than me. I really love love love it when my couples can commit to the ridiculous things I ask them to do. These two really gave it their all. They committed to the cuddles, the affection, the terrible (TERRIBLE) jokes I tell, my awkwardness, to braving the weather, to really not being shy about their love.
Just take a peek for yourself – their love shines bright!

Lindsay and John chose two beautiful Kelowna Wedding Venues for their Kelowna Wedding ceremony and reception. Evolve Cellars in Summerland is an incredible venue with one of the most stunning views in the area. Just look at their ceremony photos and you’ll understand. The Laurel Packinghouse is another beautiful venue – one of my favourite venues. As a Kelowna Wedding Photographer, I am fortunate to visit both of these beautiful venues several times a year.
The day started early with the ladies getting pampered by Dana England (make-up) and the ladies at Pomme Salon (hair). My incredible sidekick, Kaila, was hanging out with the guys while they got handsome’d-up! The ladies were quite relaxed which was a lovely treat! They spent their time laughing, eating, and gifting Lindsay a beautiful scrapbook – a tradition among friends getting married. Lindsay had a private moment to read a handwritten letting from John before getting into her beautiful Mikaella Bridal gown. Lindsay and her bridesmaids’ looks were completed with the most incredible and unique bouquets by Blue Sage Farm. If you’re looking for something different and unique… you need to contact Darquise. She’s incredible, as you can see!
Lindsay’s Aunt officiated the wedding ceremony which was a lovely personal touch. I’m all about the family and this detail made my heart so happy! Lindsay and John wrote personal vows for one another… another detail I love. I try to get to know my clients as much as possible during the planning process, but regardless of how much we talk beforehand, personal wedding vows give me another view into their love story. I feel so fortunate to be a part of these special moments.
After the ceremony, we headed to the Laurel Packinghouse and spent more time taking pictures around downtown (I love having lots of time for portraits!) Then we filled our bellies with a delicious dinner from Deli City, listened to speeches, and partied the night away!
Enjoy these images and I apologize in advance for the amount included in this post (NOT!). It’s not my fault that Lindsay & John and everything involved in their wedding day, was so beautiful!

On of the best parts about being a Kelowna wedding photographer is spending time with clients well before the wedding while visiting some of Kelowna’s most beautiful sights. Dilworth Mountain Park is one of the prettiest parks in Kelowna. With it’s mountain backdrop on one side and a view of all of Kelowna on the other, it doesn’t disappoint! Kristy & Jon chose Dilworth Mountain Park for their engagement session and it worked out perfectly!
During the session, I was asking Kristy and Jon to do some weird shit, as I do. They fully committed to my weird requests and we had a lot of fun and laughs! Jon’s does not disappoint in the Batman voice department!
Looking forward to their 2019 wedding!
Rachel and Nathaniel hiked to the very top of a mountain for their engagement session (that sounds a LOT more dramatic than the hike actually was). The sun was shining and it was WINDY! Which, I love. I love movement in images and wind is the perfect movement helper!
These two sillies were so much fun – I could’ve photographed for forever!
Looking forward to their upcoming wedding this August!!
It’s been a very long time since I’ve blogged – you figure I would’ve done that during the off-season. Instead, I took care of my health and spent a whole lot of time with my boys and family.
Now that wedding season is here and I’m back in my office until all hours of the morning, I’m going to share the most special wedding I have ever photographed with you.
This wedding is not any ordinary wedding. It’s the wedding of my sweet cousin Nikki and her incredible man, Alex. They way he looks at her (you’ll see) is the sweetest. He’s a man of integrity, loves deeply, and has an amazing sense of humour. To sum it up – he’s a perfect match for Nikki and for our family. Alex and Nikki are high school sweeties and we’ve all loved Alex for a long time. We’ve all known that this day would eventually come along, and when it did, let me tell you… there were tears. So. Many. Tears.
Nikki looked so beautiful in the sweetest Anais Anette dress from The Modern Bride. This pair love to travel so it made sense to have a destination wedding. They chose the Iberostar Paraiso Beach Resort in Mexico and it was the most beautiful resort ever! Everything was wonderful (can I go back now??)! Because Nikki wanted to make sure we all cried a ton, she wore our late grandmother’s pearl ring and used her handkerchief to wipe away her tears.
Admittedly… I am a crier. At every wedding. I love my couples and become very invested in their love. THIS WEDDING THOUGH?? I’d never photographed the wedding of a family member and emotionally, it was more challenging than I had anticipated. To be able to preserve these memories for my family – beyond priceless.
Nikki and Alex – thank you SO MUCH for involving me in your special day. Bringing our family and your closest friends (who are now my family whether they like it or not) together was the most amazing gift.
Love you both infinity.
ps: I’m not crying, you’re crying!

Well… this was officially one of the coldest engagement sessions I’ve ever photographed. It was cold. The kind of cold where you can’t feed your fingers or toes at all after 15 minutes. It was entirely worth it for this beautiful Snowy Forest and Mountain Kelowna Engagement session.
Can we just talk a minute about Lindsay’s dress?? Firstly – Lindsay is stunning. Then she puts this dress on and magic happened! I actually can’t believe that she braved the cold for so long in this dress!
Lindsay and John – thank you SO MUCH for braving the cold with me! And for going along with it when I said “Just one more!” 8 or 10 times…!
