Kristina & Oliver – Surprise Maternity Session – Kelowna Maternity Photographer

Oliver is a the sweetest gentleman in all the land. He decided that he would give Kristina a surprise maternity session after she decided not to have one because Oliver doesn’t love having his photo taken. Both wonderful, selfless people trying to make the other happy.

In the end, it all worked out! Kristina has some beautiful maternity photos and Oliver did an amazing job in front of the camera. My instructions were – be as cozy and affectionate as you can possibly be, and they delivered!

It’s always fun for me to meet new couples because I get to see them from a fresh perspective. Kristina’s radiant, beautiful smile, and gentle, caring demeanour. Oliver’s amazing hair, gentlemanly ways, and oabundant adoration for Kristina. It’s no doubt their baby is going to be the sweetest, most loved little thing!

Baby Parker – Kelowna In-Home Newborn Photographer

First comes love, second comes marriage, then comes a baby in a baby carriage!

This little nursery rhyme proved true for Amanda & Ryan, who fell in love over coffee, had a beautiful wedding at the Eldorado Hotel in Kelowna (you can see it here), and then created a little masterpiece named Mr.Parker. A work of art, he is!

I’ve known from the day I met Amanda and Ryan, that they would make great parents. In fact, I feel like I should win a prize for predicting that they would have a baby within the first year of their marriage! Amanda just oozes all the beautiful qualities of a mother and it seems like Parker is her third, forth, or fifth baby, not her first. She holds him, calms him, and snuggles him with care and confidence. And there is something just slightly more beautiful about her since the last time I saw her – and I can’t put my finger on it. I’m sure Parker has something to do with that 😉 And Ryan – well… geeez. Just wait until you see the father-son Hallmark moments from this session. Oh and that suitcase that Parker is snuggled up in – it was Ryan’s grandfather’s! I love incorporating personal touches like that.

Of course, I can’t leave out Daisy, Parker’s doggy sibling. Every time I photograph Ryan and Amanda, Daisy steals the show. It doesn’t even matter though because she is so darn adorable!

I loved snuggling your baby, Amanda and Ryan! Please have some more! (too soon??)

Tabatha and Family – Kelowna Maternity and Family Photographer

Tabatha and I are gym friends. When I found out she was expecting I said “I AM TAKING YOUR MATERNITY PHOTOS!” because I just love her little family so.

Tabatha and Denis have two little beauties and are expecting another sweet baby girl. They live right by a park so we decided to head down to the beach for their maternity and family session.

I can not wait to snuggle this little one when she arrives! Stay tuned for their newborn session in August!

Dorie Family – Kelowna Maternity & Family Photographer

I can’t say how many warm and fuzzies I feel when a previous client comes back to document another milestone. Krista, Ivan and I met when they were expecting their first little one, Sloan, whose adorableness you can see below. The last time I saw her, she was a week old!!

She likes dirt, rocks, getting white dresses dirty, smiling, saying “awww done!”, being independent, giving kisses and also, giving more hugs and kisses. She’s SUCH a sweetie and she’s going to make an amazing big sister to a little brother in a few short weeks!

Congratulations Krista and Ivan! I can’t wait to meet baby Dorie!

Baby Boy Gunner – Kelowna Newborn Photographer

Sweet little Gunner. He’s such an adorable and cuddly little man – all six pounds of him!

This little guy was the sleepiest baby I have ever photographed. Ever. I’m not kidding. He was sleeping when we arrived and was just barely waking up when we were finished. It was a world record of newborn session sleepiness. He also hit another newborn session record – he did not pee OR poop on me. WHAT??? I always tell my clients “Don’t worry if your baby has an accident on me. Actually, expect that he/she will. I have a change of clothes, don’t worry! And don’t feel badly. It is going to happen.” I think little Gunner is in the business of proving people wrong. He HAD to show me up! Good luck with that in the future, Mom and Dad!

Gunner has an adorable older dog-brother, Swayze. I couldn’t help but include a shot of them together. I think that Swayze proud of his family’s new little baby. You’ll see what I mean. Feel free to leave me a comment captioning his expression!

Baby Isaac – Kelowna Newborn Photographer

Meet sweet Isaac. Six days new at the time of his session.

When we arrived to photograph this sweet little man, he was calm, sleepy, happy. He was ready! I feel confident saying that his calm nature was definitely a reflection of his mother’s nature. It’s not always the case that new moms are confident and calm. Isaac’s Momma, is one of those women who just exudes strength and surety. Mothering looks good on her!

Isaac’s Dad is a a firefighter here in Kelowna. We squished sweet Isaac up and propped him in Dad’s helmet. It’s amazing to think that someday, Isaac too, will grow into a strong man, just like his Dad.

I always feel so incredibly lucky that strangers invite me into their homes to snuggle their newborns and photograph all their little details. Details that are easily forgotten if not captured in a tangible image. Every time I snuggle a newborn, I think, “I can’t believe my boys were ever this tiny!”. It’s easy to forget, but so wonderful to recall by looking at photographs (and snuggling newborn babies!).

The Brown Family

Lisa is my go-to gal when looking for a new meal plan, which is basically the only way I can eat healthy all of the time. If I’m not following a plan, it’s just way too easy to get off track. She even obliges my “no beans” requests.

Baby Christopher

Hi Friends!

So…. it’s clearly been a LONG time since I’ve blogged. Mainly because when you add a third child to your family, overwhelm hits HARD. It’s all good now though, we are settled and adjusting to a routine.

I’m going to work my way backwards and post some of the sessions I’ve done over the past few months.

Here we have little Christopher who was born two weeks early. He was the sleepiest little peanut during his session, although he really didn’t like being undressed. We wrapped him up and he was a happy guy.
